The Freeride Republic Ltd

The Freeride Republic is run by winter sports enthusiasts who have spent sixteen seasons working and running chalets in the French Alps. The Freeride Republic is now in its 6th full season of operating chalets independently in the Courchevel area.

We provide you with an extremely comfortable chalet environment in which you can enjoy a winter sports holiday in a world-class ski resort at a very competitive price.

Staff Biographies

Ralph Corner | Managing Director Freeride Republic Ltd

Born in Bradford West Yorkshire in 1974. Educated at Rishworth School Halifax West Yorkshire. Graduated from Goldsmiths College University of London in 1999 with B.A Honours Politics & Economics.

Ralph spent 3 seasons in Tignes in the mid nineties as a ski guide and barman. Ralph returned to the ski business in 2001 working as Resort Manager for Ski Direct Control in Vallandry Les Arcs & then La Tania Courchevel. Ralph set up the Freeride Republic Ltd as a company in 2006 and ran the companies first chalet in winter 2006 / 7 in La Tania and has remained in the area ever since.

The Freeride Republic is now in its 6th year of operating chalets in the La Tania & Courchevel areas. Ralph is a Halifax Town fan and is a committee member for the annual La Tania Charity Day proceedings. 

Carolyn and Stefan | Chalet Managers

Carolyn formerly worked in banking and programme management. Stefan is chief engineer but formerly served as a Royal Marine.

Renee | Chalet Host

Renee grew up in the far north of New Zealand and completed her education at the University of Waikato, studying a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in public relations and management.

Since having completed university she has embarked on an overseas working experience which has taken her from bar and floor work in some of Melbourne's best restaurants, to backpacking through South and Central America, a year of teaching English in rural China and finally working on super yachts in the Mediterranean. 

Renee has a great love for travel and adventure, and enjoys yoga, pilates and general health and fitness activities.   

Jeremy Fritchley | Chef & Host Chalet Pommat

Born in Tauranga New Zealand in 1980. Educated at Outumoetai College and graduated from the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic with a certificate in hospitality studies.

After completing an apprenticeship at Mills Reef winery in Bethlehem Jeremy headed to Melbourne Australia to broaden his skills and knowledge eventually working his way up to running kitchens.

In 2010 Jeremy worked a ski season at Mount Hotham in Australia and during this season Jeremy won a best fine dining award for his cooking.

Jeremy then moved to Europe in April 2011 to work in the super yacht industry and in April 2011 joined a 57 metre boat called Cleopatra as Head Chef.
